Today, I'm reaching out purely in a personal capacity, setting aside my professional role to share some thoughts directly with you. It's challenging to separate the personal from the professional when the issues at stake are so important to me.

I've recently decided to run for precinct committeeman, driven by concerns over the actions of some current leaders who I believe are failing our community. This move has unfortunately drawn threats and hateful comments, tactics seemingly aimed at intimidating me. I am not naive about these tactics, but let me be clear: I'm committed for the long haul.

Opponents have criticized my involvement on various boards they disagree with, somehow questioning my freedom to choose how and where I spend my time. I also play hockey—should that be an issue? My personal reasons for supporting certain causes are my own. I’ve never chastised you for the events you attend or how you spend your time, though I may strongly disagree with it; that is your right. I hope you sleep well each night reflecting on the impact of your work. I know that I do. Remember the old saying about walking a mile in someone's shoes before you judge them?

My candidacy is driven by a desire to create a better environment for my kids and to counteract the spread of hate and fear that threatens our businesses and community welfare. Your attacks on me simply highlight the reasons behind my efforts. I was raised differently, taught to be respectful and supportive. I’m not sure who taught you that it’s okay to bully, lie, and intimidate people you disagree with, but it makes me sad for you and the people you are betraying.

I also want to address some misinformation about our participation in events like Pride at Heritage Health. We provide care to everyone—no exceptions, no exclusions. Health challenges like diabetes or mental health issues do not discriminate, and neither do we. Our doors are open to everyone, regardless of who you are or what you believe. It's puzzling how some get worked up about our participation in this one event, yet I’ve never been handed a list of 'approved' events our private business should attend. Should we avoid the gun show or career fairs? Who decides what’s safe and who grants approval?

It's disheartening to see false narratives suggesting I have hidden motives in supporting the LGBTQ community or any other group. I believe in building bridges, not creating divisions. It’s painful to see such misinformation spread. I still have space in my heart for those who spread these falsehoods. I hope you see what this does and how it tears us apart instead of finding common ground.

At Heritage Health, we support each person on their health journey with empathy and care. I am committed to fostering healing and understanding, not just within the walls of our clinics but throughout our entire community.

To those spreading or believing these false narratives, I invite you to a more constructive conversation. Let’s understand each other and work together for a healthier community.

Thank you for reading, and to those who support and trust in our mission, I deeply appreciate you standing with us. Let’s keep the conversation going—because it’s through talking that we build a stronger, more compassionate community.
