The Light We Share: Connecting the World Through Music

Hi friends,

I’m incredibly excited to share a project that has been one of the most meaningful journeys of my life. It’s called The Light We Share—a global music project where I’ve taken a single song and translated it into 31 languages (so far).

This project isn’t just about music. It’s about connection, love, and the power of art to bring us together as one human family. At a time when the world feels more divided than ever, I wanted to create something that reminds us of our shared humanity and shows that no matter what language we speak, we’re all part of the same story.

A World That Needs Light

Every day, we’re confronted with news of war, hunger, inequality, environmental crises, and suffering. These challenges are enormous, and they can make the world feel heavy and fractured. But sometimes, amidst all the chaos, we just need a moment of hope—something to remind us of the beauty that still exists.

Music has always been that for me. It’s a universal language that doesn’t need translation to touch the heart. It can cross borders, transcend cultures, and bring people together in a way nothing else can. That’s why I created The Light We Share—to give the world something to sing, something to feel, and something to believe in again.

31 Languages, 1 Message

This project is built around a simple but powerful idea:

  • Every heart has value.
  • Everyone is loved.
  • Together, we can make a brighter world.

Each version of The Light We Share has been carefully translated and adapted to celebrate the culture it represents. From the Guzheng in the Mandarin version to the Uhadi in the Zulu version, every track includes traditional instruments and styles to honor the uniqueness of each language.

And at the end of every version, you’ll hear me speak these words in that language: "This is Mike Baker, sending love to you from Idaho. Remember, you are loved, and together, we can make a brighter world."

This message isn’t just for one person, one country, or one culture. It’s for everyone, everywhere.

Launching on My Birthday: January 12th

On January 12th, 2025—my birthday—I’ll be launching all 29 versions of The Light We Share on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other major streaming platforms.

I chose my birthday for this launch because I wanted to celebrate it with the world in the best way I know how: by sharing something that brings people together. For me, this is the ultimate gift—something positive that I can give to a world that has already given me so much.

What’s Next? Expanding the Project in 2025

This is just the beginning. My goal for 2025 is to add even more languages and versions of The Light We Share. I want to reach as many people as possible and create a song that feels like it belongs to everyone, everywhere.

Imagine a world where every person can hear this song in their own language, where every culture feels seen, heard, and celebrated. That’s the vision I’m working toward.

With the help of incredible AI tools, I’ve been able to make this dream a reality. AI has helped me translate, adapt, and record this song in ways I never thought possible. It’s a powerful tool that I’ve used to amplify the human spirit, not replace it, and I’m excited to continue exploring how technology can help connect us through music and art.

How You Can Be Part of This Journey

This project is about connection, and I can’t do it alone. Here’s how you can help make The Light We Share even bigger:

  1. Listen & Share On January 12th, search for Mike Baker and The Light We Share on your favorite streaming platform. Share the song in your language—or listen to others and discover the beauty of cultures around the world.
  2. Spread the Word Tell your friends, family, and community about the project. Let’s share this message of hope and unity far and wide.
  3. Collaborate Have ideas for new languages, cultural instruments, or collaborations? I’d love to hear them. Let’s make this project even more inclusive and diverse.
  4. Support the Mission Donations can help fund translations, recordings, and outreach to bring this project to even more people. Every contribution helps make this vision a reality. Venmo @Mike-Baker-85

Why This Matters to Me

As a proud dad of three, the CEO of an amazing healthcare team that’s changing the world, and a (very) average beer league hockey goalie, I believe in the power of community, love, and optimism.

This project isn’t just about music—it’s about showing my kids, my friends, and the world that we can always choose to build bridges instead of walls. It’s about using the tools we have—music, art, and even AI—to create something meaningful and beautiful in a world that desperately needs it.

And of course, I couldn’t do this without the incredible support of my soulmate, who inspires me every step of the way.

A World That Sings Together

If this project inspires just one person to feel more connected, loved, or hopeful, then it’s already a success. But I believe it can do so much more.

I believe The Light We Share can remind us that even in the darkest times, there is always light. And that light doesn’t belong to just one of us—it belongs to all of us.

On January 12th, let’s make the world sing together.

Thank you for being part of this journey. 🌍🎶

With gratitude and love, Mike Baker
