There is a lot here. Books, essays, songs, artwork, a podcast, advocacy work, twenty-five years of running a community health center. People arrive from all of it, and almost never for the same reason.

So rather than hand you a menu, what brought you here?

Someone I love has endometriosis, and I don't know how to help.

This is the work I get the most mail about. My wife has endometriosis. For years I did what supportive husbands are told to do. Research, advocate, fix. I overcorrected so hard that I made her illness my project. Somebody eventually had to tell me my awakening was not the point.

I lead something, and it's heavier than I expected.

I run a community health center. Mission and margin pull opposite directions most weeks, and nobody hands you a model for deciding between them. I write about leading under that kind of pressure without becoming someone you'd rather not work for.

Read: One-Thirty in the Morning. Seventeen minutes, and the one I'd pick.

I'm losing someone slowly, or I already have.

I'm trying to figure out what to hand a machine and what to keep.

I use these tools. I also run an organization where the wrong answer costs somebody something real. I'm interested in a usable line, not a position.

My brain won't sit still and I've stopped apologizing for it.

Thirteen books, a pile of records, and a day job. People call that discipline. It is closer to architecture, and I’d rather talk about how it actually works than pretend it's a productivity system.

I just want to know where to start reading.

Fair. There are thirteen books and that is genuinely too many to walk into cold. Start with the one that has the clearest reason to exist: Believe Her the First Time.

I came for the music, or the artwork.

Most of the records started as something I couldn't say in an essay.

I'm looking for a speaker, or a guest for my show.

I’ll send you the next one

My letter is called Just an Ordinary Tuesday. Essays mostly, and now and then a song, an episode, some artwork, or something from the advocacy work.

Joining is free, and it opens the Resource Library — twelve tools I built because we needed them.

You’re in. Check your inbox to confirm, and the next ordinary Tuesday will find you.

I aim for Tuesdays, twice a month or so, and I don’t always make it. Your address stays private, and leaving is always easy.
